Class topics are as follows:

Taiko Fundamentals: Nagado
Mondays at 6:30
Learn fundamental techniques to playing the Nagado (barrel shaped drum.) Students will learn basic etiquette, stance, how to play the drum, and a short practice piece.

Taiko Fundamentals: Ji
Mondays at 7:30
Students will learn commonly used time keeping patterns (Ji) and the basics of playing the shime (small rope drum). Other topics learned during this session are musical communication, improvisation, and a short practice piece.

Styles*
Thursdays at 6:30
The topic for Jan. 9th-Feb. 16th will be Odaiko technique. Students will learn how to play the great upright drum.

Repertoire*
Thursdays at 7:30
The topic for Jan. 9th-Feb. 16th will be a piece called Beginnings, performed Naname style (slant drums).

* New students must successfully complete Taiko Fundamentals 1 and 2 to be considered for entry into Styles and Repertoire.
