THE NEXT SESSION BEGINS APRIL 1ST!!!!
Classes are held Mondays for new students and Wednesdays for continuing students. Classes are held every week and run for five weeks per session. Class topics for Styles and Repertoire will rotate with each five week session.
The next five week session will run from April 1st to May 8th. (No class week of the 15th.)

Class topics will be as follows:
Taiko Fundamentals 1: Nagado
Mondays at 6:30
PREREQUISITES: NONE
New students interested in learning taiko will learn how to stand at the drum, strike the drum, and learn a short practice piece. The focus of this class is to play the more commonly seen Nagado, or barrel drum.
Taiko Fundamentals 2: Ji
Mondays at 7:30
PREREQUISITES: NONE
The two fundamentals classes may be taken in any order, or together. This class focuses on playing the shime, or small rope drum. Students will learn basic Ji patterns, or ground rhythms, receive an introduction to improvisation, and learn a short practice piece.
